MMA Cage fight win in 2016

Meet the Instructor

I started off my martial arts career at the age of 12 in kyokushinkai “full contact” Karate winning competitions in the amateur youth categories.

Aged 14 I started Tae kwon Do and achieved the rank of blue belt and won various youth competitions in kata and sparring.

Aged 21 I found my passion at Leyton Jujitsu club training under Sensei Steve Blackett (8th Dan) for many years earning my black belt in the presence of Grandmaster Soke Connelly (10th Dan).

In 2013 I entered the MMA sector and competed in many (BJJ) Brazilian Jujitsu competitions. Silver medal in the Abu Dhabi Grand slam, London open winner (IBJJF) and the 2017 British National championships (IBJJF) in the blue belt division.

I also have some cage fighting experience and have contacts should anyone want to go down the route of cage fighting and Brazilian jujitsu, but our main focus is on self-defence. Real self-defence techniques which have been tried and tested on the streets by security personnel and the police.

My Jujitsu system uses a syllabus system for grading.

The name Three strikes jujitsu comes from the fact of when we strike, we throw a minimum of 3 strikes in our attack to guarantee or increase our chances of damage which then enables us to pull off the desired locks, throws, breaks or restraints. You cannot lock or restrain a person who is strong lively and uninjured your technique will not work.

I do not teach jujitsu to people who will use it to cause harm or commit crime. My system is to be learnt and used if a situation can’t be avoided and may one day save your life or help you in a situation.

I have many students who have used some techniques and has got them out of trouble.

My training consists of the following

  • Warm up/flexibility
  • Conditioning and striking
  • Self-defence and lastly live stand up sparring (controlled) and live BJJ sparring/rolling.

I take questions live at the dojo and happy to teach what people want, there will also be lots of seminars held each month or two which will help students learn a lot quicker.

Remember what you put in is what you get out, for training to work you must be consistent and work hard for muscle memory, techniques take time we are all eager at the beginning but we must walk before we can run.

Classes are fun and friendly, and this is not a testosterone filled club and welcome all genders and anyone of any experience to pop along and join in.

We are not a club but a family and when one person succeeds, we all succeed.

You are only as good as your team
